LABORATORY FOR SINGLE-CELL ANALYSIS
Laboratory for single-cell analysis is part of the Infrastructure research project ELIXIR Slovenia (ELIXIR-SI) that aims to obtain high-density data with high-throughput laboratory technologies. The laboratory offers state of the art equipment, including Chromium Controller from 10x Genomics for single-cell library preparation from various biological samples (tissues, cells, nuclei). The Chromium platform powered by Next GEM technology, uses advanced microfluidics to perform single-cell partitioning and barcoding, and thus enables integrated analysis of single cells at a massive scale. Single-cell analyses capture molecular readouts of cell activity in multiple dimensions, including gene and cell surface protein expression, immune profiling, and chromatin accessibility (ATAC) at a resolution of an individual cell. Additionally, the laboratory offers spatial transcriptomics employing the Visium Spatial platform, a molecular profiling method that allows us to measure the gene activity in a tissue sample (fresh frozen, FFPE) and map where the activity is occurring.
